The 2009 senior class has accomplished many things. Below are some of the highlights of our latest senior class.
Valedictorian- Lauren Ziemer
Lauren Ziemer is the daughter of Don and Rita Ziemer and they are members of
Silverdale
Baptist
Church.
Lauren has been attending SBA since Middle School and has served with excellence in many capacities. She has served as vice-president of the National Beta Club, vice presidents and president of the Spanish club, Editor- in- Chief of the Yearbook, and member of the national honor society and the Meu, Apha Theta math honor society. Lauren has also been in the Headmaster list during all four of her HS years for maintaining straight As in all of her classes.
Lauren has a heart for service and missions. She has served in the Habitat for Humanity and the Humane society. She has participated in a number of short term mission trips, including this year’s senior trip to
Mexico.
Through the years Lauren Ziemer has grown into a mature Christ-like individual, an individual who strives for excellence in everything that she does.
Salutatorian- Caitlyn Grant
Caitlin is the daughter of Chuck and Denise Grant and they attend the Net church. She was adopted into her family by age 13 and she joined our SBA family in the 9th grade.
Since then, Caitlin has contributed in our SBA community in many ways. She has served in the National Beta Club, the Spanish club, FCA and she has been a member of the National Honor Society and the Meu, Apha Theta math honor society. Caitlin has also been in the Headmaster list during all four of her HS years for maintaining straight As in all of her classes.
Caitlin has a heart for service and missions. She has participated in a short term mission trip to Peru, and wants to be a nurse and get involved in medical mission trips. Caitlin has developed into a servant leader at SBA and God has honored her dedication to excellence, her character integrity and her hard work by awarding her a full ride scholarship to
Vanderbilt
University, which is where she will be attending college in the fall.

Michael Bautista of
Silverdale
Baptist
Academy has signed to play soccer for
Bryan
College, in
Dayton,
Tennessee. Michael has been a standout student-athlete for Silverdale all four years of his high school career.
BELEW SIGNS WITH
LYON
COLLEGE
Slater Belew of Silverdale Baptist Academy has signed a basketball scholarship with
Lyon
College, in
Batesville,
Arkansas. “I am honored and excited to play basketball at
Lyon
College. I want to thank my coaches at Silverdale for preparing me to play college basketball. I am excited to play under Coach Jenkins and playing as a Scot.” Slater averaged 18 pts., 8 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks a game for the Seahawks this past season.
Kevin Jenkins, the Head Men’s Basketball coach at Lyon said, “We are very excited about Slater being part of our program next year at
Lyon. He is a very talented player with a very big upside. We are losing two post players this year to graduation, and we hope he will be able to contribute immediately. Slater is a great fit for
Lyon both on the floor and off the floor. We gladly welcome him to our family.” “I am very happy for Slater, and I wish him the best as he continues his basketball career at Lyon”, said Coach Woods-Head Boys Basketball Coach,

SHARROCK SIGNS BASKETBALL SCHOLARSHIP WITH COVENANT
Kylea Sharrock of
Silverdale
Baptist
Academy has signed a basketball scholarship with
Covenant
College. She is the second female basketball player from Silverdale to sign a basketball scholarship at
Covenant
College. Kylea averaged 8 points and 6 rebounds this year for the Lady Seahawks.
She will play for new head coach Tami Smailek who “is very excited to have the opportunity to coach Kylea. She will contribute to Covenant both on and off the court. Her presence on campus and in the classroom will add to our overall campus.” Kylea had this to say: “Attending Covenant is a great blessing for my family and me. It’s been a dream of mine since freshman year, and it’s great to see it come true. Not only will I have the opportunity to play ball longer, but I also get an excellent education at a Christian college.”
MOUNCE SIGNS BASKETBALL SCHOLARSHIP WITH BRYAN
Kristen Mounce of Silverdale Baptist Academy has signed a basketball scholarship with Bryan College. She is the second female athlete from Silverdale to sign a basketball scholarship this year. She averaged 13 points and 5 rebounds this year for the Lady Seahawks.
She will play for head coach Jamy Belcher who “is very excited about Kristen joining us. Our program strives to be a Christian basketball team, not just a basketball team at a Christian College. She will fit right in. She takes her faith seriously. We are also getting someone that works hard. She has a good up side as a player. She should have a good four years at Bryan.” Kristen had this to say: “Bryan College offers an excellent academic and athletic atmosphere that will allow me to become a well rounded student while being a part of Lady Lions success on the court.”
