A Welcome from the Athletic Administration

Welcome to the SBA Athletic Department.  Our athletic program is overseen by Coach Al Rogers who serves as the Athletic Administrator.  Our High School Athletic Director is Coach Tim Couch, and our Middle School Athletic Director is Coach Tim Thompson.  The athletic Administrative Assistant is Mrs. Tiffany Givens.  Our high school athletic teams compete in the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA), and our middle school and elementary teams compete in the Independent School Conference (ISC).  

Athletics plays a significant role in the life of many students. Many life lessons are learned which will assist in the development of character and value. Through participation, students will be challenged to mature and develop in a variety of ways. The athletic program at SBA is designed to complement our commitment to Christian values and academics.

The purpose of our athletic program is to teach student-athletes to develop a Christ-like attitude and lifestyle. Our focus is to emphasize Christian character and we expect our athletes to be a witness on and off campus. We desire our student-athletes to see athletic participation as a means to mature as part of a team and not for selfish glorification. The success of our program will be measured by the quality of the student-athletes we produce and not just by our win/loss record. Winning is not our primary goal, but winning souls for Christ is.

The support and encouragement of each parent is necessary for a quality athletic program. Our mission statement is to partner together with parents to raise children of character. Parents are expected to set a proper example for their children and others in supporting our team(s) here at SBA. We all have the responsibility to demonstrate respect for coaches, participants, officials, and other spectators. We are excited about the athletic program at SBA and we look forward to partnering with parents as we raise children of character.
