Silverdale Baptist Academy

SBA's annual Giving Up Campaign is designed to raise funds for our Scholarship Fund and our Teacher Professional Development Fund.  One Friday out of each month from September-May, students wear a "Giving Up" bracelet to school and bring donations designated for this campaign.  The idea of "Giving Up" is two-fold:

1.  Matthew 6:19-21 says, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”  Giving is a Biblical principal and the Bible is clear that when we give, we are giving back to God a portion of what He has blessed us with.  It is also a good indication of the heart.

2.  Giving Up may also require that we give up a coffee at Starbucks one day or a lunch out one day (sacrifice), etc…  It is important for students to learn the importance of giving at an early age.  As parents, we can set a great example for our students as to what it means to give and how those gifts may benefit a family who has lost a job, or has outstanding medical bills or some other financial hardship.

Our goal would be that every family in the academy would participate in this annual campaign.  No amount is to small.  Below are the dates for the 2011-12 "Giving Up Fridays."  If you would like to donate online toward this campaign, please click here.
