Hello, Silverdale Parents and Students! My name is Ceri Hampton and I am the new elementary Art teacher. I am married to Bryan Hampton, a UTC professor, and we have three children: Isabel age 8, Elijah age 4 and Nathaniel age 2. Four years ago we moved from Chicago, where I taught in the 4th and 5th grades. I am so thankful that God has placed me at Silverdale. I am really looking forward to getting back into the classroom AND teaching art! We have alot of fun ahead of us!
This year in Elementary Art , we will discover a love for Art and realize that it all comes from God. We will study the elements and principles of design: Line, Color, Value, Shape, Texture, Space and Form. In turn, we will explore different mediums. The students will study various artists and periods, along with their works, techniques, and contribution to Art History. Elementary Art will be based on creativity and effort, not ability.
