Senior Trip May 08
Mission Adventure in Greece
We are excited to share with you about the amazing opportunity our SBA seniors had this May to travel to Greece for their senior trip. This trip allowed the students to do mission work in partnership with the local Christian Community Kitchen, serving meals to refugee families in downtown Athens. They had the opportunity to serve 500 refugees, (most coming from Muslim counties) and to share Christ’s love in a practical way.
The scope of this trip was not only to engage our students in mission work, and experience new cultures, but also to teach and challenge them spiritually. The students had the phenomenal opportunity to visit the places the Apostle Paul traveled through as he preached the gospel to the Greeks. Such places include the biblical sites of Corinth, Philippi, Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as other places of historical significance. Each visit brought to life the biblical truths found in the epistles written by the Apostle Paul. It also strengthened the students’ faith and encouraged them in their testimony, as they personally saw the archeological evidence which proves the historicity of the New Testament!
In addition to all these opportunities for ministry and spiritual growth, the students enjoyed the beautiful countryside, the Greek food, the blue waters of the Aegean Sea, and engaged in sports activities and fellowship with the local youth groups. This will truly was a memorable, enriching and life-changing experience for our students!
