The Interact club is going to
Algiers,
LA, which is just outside
New Orleans. We will leave at 12:30 p.m. on November 20th, and we will return around 6:00-7:00 on the evening of the 25th.
We are still planning some of the things we will be doing down there, but I can give you an idea of some of the options. We may be doing some prayer walking, handing out flyers and water for the church we will be working with, cleaning up a large field, doing some yard work, painting, hanging doors, and cutting trees, and doing a sports tournament for “At Risk Kids.”. The options are not limited to these, but these are some things we have talked about. I am expecting to have a great time as we always do!
Packing List
Everybody should bring the following items:
- Pillow
- Sleeping Bag or Air Mattress with Sheets (They have bed frames with wood but no mattresses. If this changes, I will let you know.)
- Towel
- Bible
- Notepad
- Pencils or Pens
- Work Clothes (I have never let you wear shorts in the past while we are working. I will determine that when we get there. You can wear them when we are at the church. Be prepared to wear pants every day.)
- One Nice Set of Clothes for Church
- Money for 6 meals (1 on the way down, 3 on Sunday, and 2 on the way back)
- $5 (You will turn this in before we leave. This is so we can buy cases of water when we get down there to hand out.)
- A teachable heart!!!
Nobody should bring the following items:
- Mp3 Players or any other media devices
- No texting students back at school during school
