SBA’s Mission in the High School
Our very clearly understood mission at Silverdale Baptist Academy is to provide an environment of academic excellence with a Biblical worldview conducive to developing educated young people of character and preparing them to represent our Lord Jesus Christ in all walks of life. All our activities in high school are designed to diligently advance that mission. As we continue to partner with parents in this critical phase of their children’s education, we strive to provide an outstanding educational experience that relies on three foundational pillars:
• Academic Excellence
Our goal is to cultivate in our students the desire to be excellent in every area of life, including academics. We want to prepare them to be successful in college and in any area God calls them to serve. SBA has been successfully pursuing this goal by relying on a curriculum that promotes excellence and by hiring teachers who embrace excellence in their teaching.
• Spiritual Training and Discipleship
Our heartfelt desire is to see our students enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ and to know him intimately, becoming godly warriors who will impact those around them. Our students are trained to defend their faith and use their Christian worldview to combat opposing worldviews. This biblical focus and equipping takes place effectively through:
1. Teachers who serve as a “living curriculum” in the eyes of their students.
2. Classes which teach inductive Bible study and the Christian worldview.
3. Biblical integration which occurs systematically in every subject and every class taught in the high school.
4. Service projects and trips where students learn to serve and to consider others as more important that themselves.
• Atmosphere of Learning
In our high school program we want our students’ educational experience to flourish in an environment that encourages spiritual, personal and academic growth. It is an environment in which students love to learn, which makes them excited about discovering new ideas and constructing knowledge, and which promotes the understanding God’s truth and excellence. It’s also an environment that empowers our students to attain excellence in academics while cultivating the habits which promote godly character. The acquisition of knowledge and wisdom, paired with the teaching of truth from God’s Word and the understanding of the biblical worldview, equips our students to succeed as godly warriors in the adult world!
