Welcome to the Library Page!
There are exciting things going on in the library this year!
Your library personnel this year are Mrs. Pike, the librarian, and Mrs. Ruth Gross, our volunteer assistant.
We are happy to introduce our Living Books Honor Program this year. The purpose for this is to encourage our children to read good quality books in order to grow their minds and excite their imaginations. The rules and booklists are under a link on our homepage and are grade specific. The program runs until May, so...start reading those living books!
Please remember to bring books back on your assigned library day. This way you can be sure that you will be able to check out a new book. Students check out one book during their library time and it is due back in one week.
We will be going on a Scholastic Bookfair Safari November 3rd through the 7th! We are excited about bringing back the Scholastic Bookfair this year. There will be lots of great books, fun posters, pens, pencils and a myriad of exciting items to purchase. The best part is that everything you buy will benefit our school libraries and we will be able to buy more of those wonderful living books!
Objectionable Content Policy:
The Academy attempts to avoid books that handle the questionable in unnecessarily boring, scary or offensive ways. However, if we suggest that our students read a book, or if a book is included in the library collection, please know that we chose it because we believe you will find its excellent and praiseworthy content far outweighs its imperfections. If you, as a parent, however, come across a book that you feel is unnecessarily offensive please feel free to bring it to the attention of Mrs. Pike. It will then be brought before the library committee for review and a decision will be made as to whether the book's valuable information outweighs the objectionable content. If there are any questions regarding book selection feel free to call or e-mail Mrs. Pike in the elementary library.
